Ice Skating With Ben
Ben, Mama, and I went Ice Skating at Wheaton Regional Park’s indoor rink today. This is the second time he has ever skated and last time was last year around this time. He did much better then before.
More Mass Transit
So my car’s transmission finally kicked it this past weekend after dropping $2k on it in the past year. I don’t think I am going to get it fixed, they said it could be another $3k to rebuild the transmission, and I need something more reliable. I don’t have the money to by a new or used car right now so I have to save, which means I’ll be doing more mass transit, bike, and I also Zip car (which I got approved for last night).
Monday morning was one of my first multi-connection trips via mass T (bus and train), I had to take Ben to daycare which is not very close to where I currently live. I take Ben to daycare every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I also have to say that although I use the Metro a ton I have never use the buses so thats all new to me. So after checking the route times and buses that I had to get on and time I had to be out the door with the little guy, I felt fairly confident about our trip to daycare. Ben was very excited that we were going to ride the bus and the train to daycare definitely more then I was.
We ended up arriving at daycare on time and Ben had a blast riding the train and bus! I used Google maps to get the bus times and they were pretty on, though the evenings the buses seem to get off schedule a little more.
The initial shock of not having my own car has been very stressful for me, I have had my own car since I was 16. Ive started to except not having my own car a little each day, but I am pretty sure I will get another one once I can save up enough monies to do so.
I also did some math on using mass T and Zip car and it looks like I will actually save money, with the amount of gas I use each month and my insurance payment, I could save about $150 + a month, which is pretty sweet!
And if you want to buy a broken down Saturn I know where you can find one pretty cheap!
Flashback Friday (1)
